Apple Tuna Crunch Salad (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Fresh Produce

01 - 1 ripe avocado, peeled, pitted, and diced
02 - 1 medium onion, chopped fine (about 1 1/3 cups)
03 - 1 medium-sized Granny Smith apple, diced after removing the core

→ Protein & Nuts

04 - 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or almond slices
05 - 4 cans of tuna packed in water (5 oz each), drained thoroughly

→ Dressing

06 - About 3/4 cup of mayonnaise, or adjust to how creamy you like it
07 - A splash of fresh lemon juice (about 1/2 teaspoon), or more if desired
08 - Pinch of black pepper, to taste (roughly 1/8 teaspoon)

# Instructions:

01 - Grab a dry pan and toss in the nuts. Stir them over medium heat until they get nice and golden. Once you catch that nutty smell, turn off the heat, and let them cool off.
02 - Open up those cans of tuna and drain them really well. Using the lid from the can, press down firmly to squeeze out all the water. This keeps things crisp and not watery.
03 - In a large bowl, mix the tuna, onion, avocado chunks, and apple pieces. Stir in the mayo, lemon juice, and black pepper. Add the cooled nuts and gently fold them in so everything is mixed but not smashed.

# Notes:

01 - Draining the tuna super well is crucial to avoid watery salad.
02 - This tastes best the same day since the avocado might start turning brown if left too long.
