Christmas Butter Mints (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Red coloring for food.
02 - 1/4 spoon mint extract.
03 - 2 spoons thick cream.
04 - 4 cups icing sugar.
05 - 1/2 cup of softened butter.

# Instructions:

01 - Use parchment or wax paper under everything. Keep powdered sugar at hand in case it gets tacky.
02 - Whisk butter until it fluffs up nicely.
03 - Gradually add the sugar, cream, and mint and blend until the texture firms up.
04 - Divide the dough mix. Keep most of it white and color a smaller portion red.
05 - Make two balls, one white and one red, by rolling with your hands.
06 - Make a thicker white rope and a thin red one by rolling them out.
07 - Wrap the two ropes around each other tightly.
08 - Pinch off little pieces and smooth them into balls by rolling in your palms.
09 - Lay pieces on wax paper. Let them sit for 1-2 hours to firm up. Slice them with a pizza cutter.
10 - Leave them to air out for 24 hours.
11 - Seal in an airtight container. Refrigerating is optional.

# Notes:

01 - For the best soft texture, give them a full day to settle.
02 - Package nicely to make thoughtful gifts.
