Sweet Nut Crunch (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - ⅓ cup water.
02 - ½ cup light corn syrup.
03 - ½ teaspoon baking soda.
04 - ¾ cup granulated sugar.
05 - ½ cup salted peanuts.
06 - ½ cup almond slices.
07 - ½ cup salted butter.

# Instructions:

01 - Get a tray with a rim, layer it with parchment paper, and leave it nearby. Have all your ingredients ready to go near the stove.
02 - On medium-high heat, melt your butter in a big saucepan.
03 - Once the butter is melted, mix in the sugar, water, and light corn syrup. Keep stirring for about 2 minutes or until the sugar completely dissolves.
04 - Pop on a candy thermometer and keep stirring the mix until it hits 300°F. This will take about 15 minutes.
05 - As soon as you see the mixture reaches 300°F, quickly mix in the baking soda.
06 - Toss in the salted peanuts and almonds quickly, then pour the mix onto your tray. Spread it out as evenly as you can.
07 - After it cools completely (about 30 minutes), crack it into smaller pieces.
