Green Bean Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 24 oz. frozen green beans, cut
02 - 8 oz. fresh mushrooms
03 - 1/4 spoon black pepper
04 - 3/4 spoon salt
05 - 2 garlic cloves
06 - 4 spoons butter
07 - 1 spoon olive oil
08 - 1/4 cup flour
09 - 1/8 spoon garlic powder
10 - 1 cup whole milk
11 - 1 cup veggie broth
12 - 4 oz. cream cheese
13 - 1 cup crispy onions

# Instructions:

01 - Turn the oven to 350ยบ. Chop mushrooms into small pieces, then mince the garlic.
02 - Heat a big pan with olive oil over medium. Toss in the mushrooms, followed by a little pepper and salt. Let them cook until tender. Stir in the garlic and cook just till liquid disappears.
03 - Add flour and butter into the pan. Stir constantly, letting the mix form a paste. Keep going for about two minutes till it turns slightly golden.
04 - Pour in veggie broth, then milk, and sprinkle in garlic powder. Stir thoroughly and make sure to scrape up any browned bits. Let it simmer and thicken.
05 - Drop in cream cheese and stir until it's fully melted into the mixture.
06 - Mix in the frozen beans. Let it cook until the sauce starts bubbling and the beans are heated through. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or pepper.
07 - Stir in 1/4 cup of crispy onions. Transfer everything to a baking dish and scatter the rest of the crispy onions on top.
08 - Put the dish in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Once the crispy onions are golden and the edges of the sauce are bubbling, it's done.
