Hearty Cabbage Soup (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 tbsp of oil.
02 - 1 lb of ground beef.
03 - Pepper and salt to taste.
04 - 1 yellow onion, diced small.
05 - 2 garlic cloves, minced finely.
06 - 4 cups cabbage, chopped.
07 - 2 carrots, cut into slices.
08 - 4 cups low-sodium beef stock.
09 - 3 small cans of tomato sauce (8 ounces each).
10 - 1/2 cup uncooked white rice.
11 - One bay leaf.
12 - 3 tbsp of brown sugar.
13 - 2 tbsp of fresh parsley, chopped.

# Instructions:

01 - Warm oil in a large pot. Toss in the beef, pepper, and salt. Break it apart and cook till browned.
02 - Add garlic and onion to the pot. Stir occasionally and cook for 2-3 minutes until soft.
03 - Stir cabbage, carrots, tomato sauce, broth, rice, bay leaf, and sugar into the pot. Combine well.
04 - Bring to a gentle simmer, then cover. Let it cook for roughly 25 minutes or until the rice is tender.
05 - Take the bay leaf out. Add chopped parsley on top to finish.

01 - Serves up to 6 people.
02 - Feel free to add more salt if needed.
