How to Make Matcha (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Matcha Base

01 - 2 ounces of hot water that's roughly 175°F
02 - ¼ teaspoon of premium matcha powder

→ Additions

03 - Maple syrup or honey—only if you want some sweetness (optional)
04 - 6 ounces of extra hot water or your choice of steamed milk (like almond, oat, coconut, or regular milk)

# Instructions:

01 - Use a fine mesh strainer to sift the matcha powder into a mug or small bowl. This clears out clumps so your drink's super smooth.
02 - Add 2 ounces of hot water (around 175°F is best). Then grab a bamboo whisk—or any small whisk—and quickly whisk back and forth until the matcha blends fully and creates a light foam on top.
03 - Pour in 6 ounces of your preferred steamed milk or more hot water. Whisk again until frothy. Want it sweeter? Stir in some maple syrup or honey if your matcha tastes a little bitter.

# Notes:

01 - Matcha can taste stronger or less bitter depending on the brand. If you're new to it or it's too intense, a little sweetener helps.
02 - The best water temp for matcha is about 175°F (79°C). Avoid boiling water since that'll make it more bitter.
03 - To get that perfect foam and fully mix the matcha, side-to-side whisking works like a charm.
