Spooky Sugar Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 tsp orange food coloring gel (electric orange).
02 - Halloween sprinkles if you want (optional).
03 - 2 tsp vanilla extract.
04 - 1½ cups white sugar.
05 - 2 large eggs.
06 - ½ tsp salt.
07 - 1 tsp black food coloring gel (super black).
08 - 3 cups plain flour.
09 - 1 tsp baking powder.
10 - 1 cup butter, softened to room temperature.

# Instructions:

01 - Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in one bowl. Put it to the side.
02 - In another big mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with sugar until it's creamy. Toss in the eggs and vanilla, then mix until smooth.
03 - Slowly stir the flour mix into the butter mix. Keep mixing until there's no dry flour left.
04 - Split the dough in half. Add black coloring to one part and orange to the other. Mix each until the colors are bright, cleaning the bowl between batches.
05 - Press each colored dough into thick rectangles, wrap them in plastic, and put them in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
06 - Roll each dough out evenly (about ⅛-¼ inch). Place the orange dough on the bottom, stack the black on top, and trim the edges to neaten.
07 - If you'd like, brush the dough's outside with a little water, then roll it in sprinkles to make it pop.
08 - Roll the stacked dough into a log. Wrap it in plastic and chill again for at least an hour.
09 - Heat the oven to 350°F. Slice the dough log into ¼-½ inch rounds and place on a baking sheet covered with parchment. Leave some space between them.
10 - Pop them in the oven for 10-12 minutes. Take out when the tops don't look shiny anymore.

# Notes:

01 - You can make these cookies in advance and freeze them for up to 3 months.
