Strawberry Toast Balsamic (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 slices of bread
02 - 1 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar
03 - A handful of fresh basil leaves
04 - 1/4 cup of cream cheese
05 - 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
06 - 1 cup of fresh or frozen strawberries

# Instructions:

01 - Toss the strawberries, vinegar, and sugar into a small bowl. Stir everything until it's well blended.
02 - Leave the strawberry mix alone for about five minutes so the flavors combine and the juices come out. You can also store it ahead in the fridge using an airtight container.
03 - Cook your bread until golden and crunchy, either in a toaster or on the stovetop in a pan.
04 - Spread a nice, even layer of cream cheese over the toasted bread. Use about one to two tablespoons per slice.
05 - Give the strawberry mix a quick stir first. Then, spoon those juicy strawberries and their syrup over the cream cheese on each slice.
06 - Add a couple of basil leaves on top of each piece of toast. Eat it right away while everything's warm and fresh.

# Notes:

01 - You can make the strawberry mix ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.
02 - Try any bread you like—brioche, crusty loaves, or ciabatta all taste great.
03 - For a twist, swap out the bread with crackers or sliced baguette to make bite-sized appetizers.
